About AI Cited
AI Cited publishes practical writing on answer engine optimization (AEO): how assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity decide what to say, which sources they cite, and what publishers and brands can do to earn a place in those answers.
The web's traffic patterns are shifting from ranked lists of links to synthesized answers. We think that shift deserves the same kind of careful, testable writing that early SEO got — fewer hot takes, more field notes.
What we cover
- Citations — how answer engines retrieve, read, and attribute sources, and what makes a page quotable.
- AI crawlers — the bots behind training, search indexes, and on-demand fetches, and the technical work of staying reachable to them.
- Measurement — tracking brand mentions and citations across assistants over time, since none of it shows up in your analytics.
- Content strategy — what answer-shaped writing looks like, and where comparison and category content fits.
How we work
Advice here comes from running real prompts against the major assistants and watching what they actually say and cite — not from re-summarizing other people's posts. AI search is a moving target: models change, retrieval pipelines change, and what worked last quarter can quietly stop working. When something we've published goes stale, we'd rather correct it than defend it.
